Each migration story is unique
Having emigrated from Russia to North America in the mid-1990s, first to the United States and later to Canada, I understand the experience on a personal level. My experience informs the way I conduct my legal practice, with understanding for the vulnerability and uncertainty of the clients going through this process. I care that my clients feel heard and ensure that we consider every option to arrive at the one that is best for each unique case.
Having worked in journalism in print and broadcast in Canada, Russia, and the UK before joining the legal profession, I also understand the importance of telling my clients’ stories in a way that is both easy to understand and compelling, within the formal boundaries of the law. Careless writing frustrates everyone, including judges and other decision-makers, so I take care to tell my clients’ stories with integrity and detail, as an additional way to present the strongest case possible.
